Terms
Last updated
These are the terms for using Hovora while it is in beta. They are deliberately short, and they try to say plainly what you can expect and what is expected of you.
What Hovora is
Hovora is property management software for people who own a small number of properties and look after them themselves. It keeps properties, tasks, recurring maintenance, documents, expenses and reminders in one place.
It is not a tenant portal, a rent-collection service, an accounting system, or a substitute for professional advice about property, tax or law.
Hovora is in beta
The product works and is in real use, but it is early. Features may change or be removed, behaviour may change, and things may break. There is no uptime guarantee and no maintenance window you can rely on.
Keep your own copies of documents you cannot afford to lose. Hovora is a convenient place to find them; while it is in beta it should not be the only place they exist.
Your account
Use an email address you actually control — it is how you sign in and how a password reset reaches you. Keep your password to yourself, and treat anything done through your account as done by you.
If you think someone else has got into your account, say so at [email protected] and it will be dealt with.
Your data is yours
Everything you put into Hovora stays yours. Using the product grants no ownership of it and no right to use it for anything beyond running the service for you — it is not read for training, not sold, and not shared with anyone for their own purposes.
In return, you are responsible for having the right to store what you upload, and for it being lawful where you are.
Acceptable use
Do not use Hovora to:
- break the law, or store material that is unlawful where you are
- upload malware, or anything intended to damage a system or another person
- reach an account, organization or file that is not yours, or probe the service for a way to
- place deliberate load on the service, or automate against it in a way that degrades it for others
- resell it, or present it as your own product
Plans and payment
Hovora has three plans. What each includes, and what it costs, is on the pricing page.
There is no automated billing during beta. There is no checkout, no card is stored, and nothing is ever charged automatically. A paid plan is arranged by email: you write to [email protected], payment is settled between us, and the plan is applied to your organization by hand.
A paid plan may be granted with an end date. When that date passes the organization returns to the Free plan on its own. Nothing you have added is deleted when that happens — if you are over the Free limit you simply cannot add more until the plan goes back up.
Services Hovora depends on
Hovora runs on third-party infrastructure — hosting, a database, file storage and an email provider — listed on the privacy page. When one of those has a problem, Hovora may have the same problem, and that is outside its control.
Ending it
You can stop using Hovora whenever you like. To have your account and its contents removed, email [email protected] and it will be done by hand — there is no self-service deletion yet.
Access may be suspended or ended if these terms are broken, if the service is being used unlawfully, or if continuing would put other people’s data at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, you will be told why.
The software and the name
Hovora’s software, design and name belong to Hovora. Using the product does not transfer any of that, and nothing in these terms grants a licence to copy or rebrand it.
What is guaranteed, and what is not
Hovora is provided as it is. Beyond the protections your local law gives you and which cannot be signed away, no warranty is offered that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, Hovora is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit or opportunity, or for data you have no other copy of. This is an early beta of a small product, and the terms reflect that rather than pretending otherwise.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the product does. Changes are posted here and the date at the top moves; material changes will also be mentioned by email. Continuing to use Hovora after a change means the updated terms apply.
